The Miss USA Benefit Cruise Officially a Success!

Things don’t always go as planned.  Sometimes you spend weeks and weeks setting up for a big night, and then it rains.  That’s what happened last night.

The day started out with all of the Miss USA contestants enjoying a tour on the Gray Line New York sightseeing buses while traveling throughout Manhattan.  We began setting up for an incredible twilight cruise in the New York Harbor, but the weather had some other plans.  Just as the girls buses pulled up to Pier 78, the rain began to fall.  That wasn’t going to ruin our night, though.  We made some last minute changes, found some umbrellas and carried on.

Red Carpet leading to the boat

The media were moved inside as the girls walked down our new red carpet, posing for pictures before beginning the cruise.

By the time we got on the boat, we were all very hungry, and Pacific Grill provided some fabulous food for us to munch on.  Our tour guide for the evening, John, took the microphone and we pulled away from the pier.  John provided those of us aboard with some quick facts about the Miracle On The Hudson and the new tallest building in New York, One World Trade Center, before we made it to the Statue of Liberty.

Lady Liberty

A few of the girls were making their first trip to New York, and a few more had never gotten the chance to meet Lady Liberty, so this was a special moment for them.  After stepping outside for a few pictures (despite the wind and rain) the girls came back into the cabin and prepared our return trip.

While the girls were the main attraction of the night, there were some VIP guests on board as well.  Thanks to many purchasing tickets, we were able to raise a bunch of money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  Helping this great organization was an incredible way to cap off the evening.

Ultimately, the night was a success.  Yeah, the clouds may have ruined the sunset and the rain may have forced us inside, but we will proudly present a check for $10,000 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation all because of what we were able to do last night.  Don’t forget to watch the Miss USA Pageant on June 3rd to find out who will be joining us for the pink ribbon cutting ceremony!

Miss USA Benefit Cruise Tonight

Imagine this, but with the sun setting. Awesome, huh?

In case you haven’t heard, tonight is the big night!  The lovely ladies of the Miss USA Pageant will be all aboard our cruise line for an incredible night on the Hudson in a conjoined effort to raise awareness (and money) for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  Everything is prepared and ready to go, with only the weather still in question. (I have personally asked Mother Nature to hold off on the rain tonight, and I always recycle so I’m pretty sure I’m in her good graces.)  The stage is set for an evening that many will never forget.

Now, just hours away from departure, you still have a chance to be a part of it all.  You can ride on the ship, hang out with the Miss USA contestants, see the greatest city in the world at sunset and help the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  All you need to do is buy a ticket, then you have access to it all, plus all of the money from the ticket goes to our friends at BCRF.  If you would rather not, I understand.  You will just be forced to live this night vicariously through our Twitter feed @CruiseNYC.  And yes, for those of you asking, you can count on many tweets tonight.

So it’s your choice: you can hang out with some of the coolest young women in the world while taking a cruise and curing cancer, or you can just regret it later.

See you there!

Join 2012 Miss USA Contestants on a NY Harbor Cruise for Charity

Tuesday, May 8th 2012 is going to be a special night.  One of our brand new cruise ships will gather the contestants for the Miss USA pageant as well as Alyssa Campanella, the reigning Miss USA.  The boat will head out into the enchanting New York Harbor for a scenic ride as the sun sets over Manhattan, and all of this is being done in the name of charity.

That’s what makes next Tuesday so great.  Yeah, it will be fun to host America’s greatest pageant queens, but the fact thousands of dollars will be raised for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation makes this such and incredible event.

Would you like to join us on this magical cruise next Tuesday?  Well, this is your chance.  With limited availability remaining, we are offering an invitation to the general public to join Miss USA on her cruise.  For $100, all of which will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, we want you to come along for the ride.  To keep the evening at a personal level, only 100 tickets are being sold to this event.  Get yours before you miss out.
